The Climate Kids
The Climate Kids are about living in a world that is climate-safe, based on principles of sustainability. This means living with less impact on the environment and more impact on our own health and well-being. Climate-neutral living takes into account the impacts of climate change, human activities, and global events to create a more sustainable future.
It all started in 2020. Our youngest members in the club planted a tree together. This paved the way for a journey that continues to be followed to this day. Eintracht will become Germany’s first climate-neutral amateur club.
In 2021, another milestone was reached. The Climate Kids of Eintracht Peitz were born. From now on, each child will care for their own tree. The child nurtures and tends to the tree with the help of the adults in the club. Our little sponsors gain a sense of responsibility and sustainability. An apple doesn’t actually come from a plastic bag from the supermarket.
The Climate Kids are growing! Even the older ones want to join in. We are expanding the age range for our Climate Kids to 5 to 13 years. We are proud to have such committed young players. In 2022, we will once again actively plant trees!
In 2023, the time finally came. We had the pleasure of welcoming our friend Dr. Mark Charlton from Leicester (UK). He has been involved in the project for two years and is trying to support us in many possible ways.
In 2024, we invited the Wirtschaftsrat Peitz e.V. Alongside an interesting session on the “Net Zero Valley” project, there was also the opportunity to plant a tree together. By the way, the topic of “Net Zero Valley” aligns perfectly with the goals of Eintracht Peitz, allowing for the collaboration of expertise.
The climate-conscious kids of Eintracht Peitz, who love playing football, are working together for a healthy future.
OUR GOAL
The Climate Kids accompany Eintracht Peitz on its path to climate neutrality. The goal is to become climate-neutral by 2025, and the Climate Kids actively contribute to this. Another focus is to educate our youth sustainably. The handling of water, nature, and interaction with each other are essential elements in the children’s education. Learning on and off the football field is what unites the project ‘Climate Kids’.
